In a significant win for the youth of Ondo State, a contractor handling a project at Fasoranti Park has agreed to engage local youth in direct labor and supply of materials. This development is a direct result of a strategic meeting between the contractor, Hon. Orioye Gbayisemore, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Youth Empowerment and Job Creation, and Dr. Kayode Ajulo, the Attorney General of the state and Chairman of the state’s Bar association.

As a seasoned entrepreneur and Managing Director of Ojajamore, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of First Moreys Services Limited, Orioye Gbayisemore’s efforts in promoting youth development in Ondo State have been consistent and impactful. In his New Year message to the youth, he charged them to be resilient and determined in the face of challenges, and emphasized the importance of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship. His commitment to empowering young people is evident in his advocacy for their engagement in the park’s construction project.

The successful outcome of the meeting is a testament to his dedication to youth empowerment and job creation. As the project progresses, it’s expected that more youth will be engaged, providing them with valuable work experience and skills. This initiative demonstrates the state government’s commitment to empowering its young people and promoting economic growth in the area.

Under his leadership, Ondo State has witnessed significant strides in youth development. He has organized the first Ondo State Youth Retreat, which brought together the largest gathering of youths and like-minded individuals in the state, outside of political campaigns. Additionally, he has facilitated partnerships with international organizations, including a UK development partner, to promote the blue and marine economy. The “One Youth, One Skill” scheme was also launched to equip young people with skills needed to be self-reliant and globally competitive.

Furthermore, 2000 youth have been empowered through the IFAD LIFE ND program, while others have been facilitated through the Federal Ministry of Youth, and an empowerment opportunity for youth was created through the Amotekun ambassador program. As a strong advocate for youth development, his efforts have been recognized, and he continues to work tirelessly to ensure that young people in the state have access to opportunities that will enable them to thrive.
