A Heart of Gold: Hon. Dayo Awude Gives Back to His Roots.

In a world where many forget their beginnings once they rise to prominence, Hon. Dayo Awude has once again proven that true leadership is rooted in gratitude and service. The distinguished public servant and politician has renovated the Hall of Alakunre Comprehensive High School, Akure  his beloved alma mater , transforming it beautifully within just six weeks.

With humility and grace, Hon. Awude described the project as his “widow’s mite”, giving all glory to God for making it possible. “Within six weeks, the Lord helped me to achieve this transformation. This is my widow’s mite. To God alone be the glory, great things He has done,” he shared, radiating the sincerity of a man who truly values giving back.

Hon. Dayo Awude is not new to public service. A former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and an experienced administrator, he has always stood out for his deep commitment to people-centered leadership and youth empowerment. Currently, he is the Coordinator of the Sunshine Grassroots Network (SGN) — a dynamic political movement that continues to shape the political landscape of Ondo State through progressive ideas and people-driven engagement.

Beyond politics, this act of generosity reflects the very essence of Hon. Awude’s personality — compassion, humility, and a burning desire to see the next generation thrive. The newly renovated school hall now stands as a symbol of hope and a call to action for all who passed through the school’s gates.

Hon. Awude, in his heartfelt message, also made a passionate appeal to both the government and public-spirited individuals to come to the aid of Alakunre Comprehensive High School. “The school needs urgent attention,” he emphasized. “Let us join hands to restore its glory and provide a better learning environment for our children.”

Indeed, Hon. Dayo Awude’s gesture is more than a renovation — it is a legacy of love, gratitude, and community spirit. In honoring his roots, he has reminded us all that true greatness lies not in the positions we hold, but in the lives we touch.
