PRESS RELEASE: Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo Is a Symbol of Youthful Excellence and Transformative Leadership — By Comr. Afe Adegboyega Ezekiel (EROSION)
As the National Director of Information, Southern Nigeria Youth Coalition (SNYC) and the Immediate Past Coordinator of the Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN), I, Comrade Afe Adegboyega Ezekiel known as EROSION, wish to state clearly and unequivocally that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed the authenticity of the NYSC certificate of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Honourable Minister of Interior.
The NYSC has officially clarified that Hon. Tunji-Ojo was mobilized for national service in 2006 but could not complete it at that time. He was later remobilized in 2019, served with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in Garki, Abuja, and was duly issued his NYSC certificate in 2020. The delay in printing the certificate was simply a technical error, not a reflection of misconduct or falsification.
It saddens me that some people prefer to promote falsehood instead of focusing on the incredible reforms and achievements Hon. Tunji-Ojo has delivered in record time. This is a man who has brought dignity, innovation, and speed to public service. In just a few months, he cleared over 204,000 passport backlogs in less than three weeks, reduced passport processing time to just three weeks, and introduced contactless biometric passports, e-visa platforms, and e-gates at our airports.
Hon. Tunji-Ojo has also taken bold steps to decongest correctional facilities, leading to the release of over 4,000 minor offenders, and strengthened the operations of the Federal Fire Service, ensuring faster and more efficient responses nationwide. These are clear, measurable results that have touched the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
As a proud Ondo State son, I see in Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo a reflection of the excellence, discipline, and visionary leadership that define our people. He represents the best of youth-driven governance focused, transparent, and solution-oriented.
Instead of amplifying baseless allegations, I urge Nigerians to celebrate leaders who are working tirelessly to move our nation forward. Hon. Tunji-Ojo’s integrity is intact, his certificate is authentic, and his record of service speaks volumes. The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has found in him a dependable driver of progress, and even the President has commended his efforts in transforming the Interior Ministry and enhancing Nigeria’s global image.
I believe it is time for us especially the youth to rally behind capable, results-oriented leaders like Hon. Tunji-Ojo. He has proven that youthful leadership is not about age but about impact, vision, and competence.
As a youth leader and advocate for development, I stand firmly with Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. I celebrate him not only as a leader from Ondo State but as a shining example of what young Nigerians can achieve when given the opportunity to serve.
Let us, therefore, rise above distractions and continue to support those who embody progress, accountability, and integrity. Together, we can build the Nigeria we all desire.
