BURSTED: ONDO COUNCIL BOSS IGNORES COURT INJUNCTION, VOWS TO MOBILISE POLICE AND AMOTEKUN TO BEAT UP MONARCH.
The Chairman of the riverine Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State, Honourable Maurice Oripanye, has vowed to disregard court injunction and mobilise police and Amotekun operatives to beat up Oba Olawole Inspiration Ajimosun should he come near the Council Secretariat at Igbokoda today, Wednesday 22nd October 2025.
It will be recalled that in a Suit filed by Oba Ajimosun at the High Court Okitipupa on Monday 20th October 2025, Justice L.B Ologun granted an Interim Injunction restraining the Governor of Ondo State, the Attorney General, the Commissioner for Chieftaincy, the Council Chairman and others from taking any step or further steps on the selection or appointment of the Olu of Jirinwo in the Ugbo Area of Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State pending the determination of the Motion on Notice for Interlocutory Injunction.
Oba Ajimosun complained that being the incumbent Oba promoted along with the Chieftaincy by the Executive Council on the 24th of August 2025 published in the White Paper on the Report of the Ajama Commission of Inquiry, the selection or appointment of any other person by the Defendants is illegal and a violation of his vested rights under customary law and Chiefs Law of Ondo State.
However, the Council boss in a voice message in the Ilaje Yoruba dialect which has gone viral, confirmed the service of the injunction but vowed not to honour it as he already had the list of those he intended to choose the new Oba from.
Oripanye boasted that he would mobilise police and Amotekun operatives to beat up Oba Olawole Inspiration Ajimosun should he venture to visit the Council Secretariat Igbokoda today where the selection exercise would take place.
He boasted further that he would have completed the exercise before the bailiff could move from Okitipupa to Akure to serve the Governor and the Commissioner copies of the Court injunction.
