Ikale Legend Pledges to Revolutionize Region with Agricultural Investments
~ As he hosts Pan-Ikale and Pro-APC Political Movement

In a bid to transform Ikale land into a hub for unprecedented investment opportunities, Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, a UK-trained Ikale-born agriculture expert and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture and AgriBusiness, has unveiled plans to make the region an investment haven.
While hosting the Pan-Ikale and Pro-APC political movement, Ikale APC Influentials, at his Okitipupa country home, Hon. Akinsola expressed confidence in Ikale’s potential for agricultural investment. He cited the region’s rich history, cultural heritage, and vast fertile lands as key advantages.
“As a true-born Ikale man who is well-grounded in our history and culture, as well as the legacies handed over to us by our forebears, I can say without any iota of doubt that Ikale is a land blessed with many investment opportunities. I could remember the heyday of Oluwa Glass and Oil Mills (now Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc – OOPC) when we were the economic hub in the country and even the African sub-region.”
“As a trained Agriculture Expert who is well-traveled and versed in agronomy, we’re making Ikale land an Investment Haven. We have the human and natural resources to give us lifelong sustainability. Our agricultural lands are vast and fertile, so why wouldn’t we succeed if we tap into all these vast resources at our disposal?”
Hon. Akinsola drew inspiration from Ikale’s past economic fortunes and emphasized the need to build on the legacies of Ikale’s patriarchs and matriarchs, such as Baba Ayela, Baba Olayeye, Mama Idepe, Baba Akinfosile, Baba Iyantan, and others who were instrumental in the region’s strategic and economic prosperity.
“All I’m particular about is how our people can get out of poverty. We can grow ourselves through what we have. The foundation we should be enjoying today had been laid by our patriarchs and matriarchs. We can build on these legacies and make things right for our land.”
“All we need now is vast land running into tens of thousands of acres. We’re bringing in both manufacturing and processing companies to invest in the land. Leveraging my wealth of experience in this field garnered from abroad, you can bet that unemployment will be a thing of the past as those companies will employ thousands of our people. With this, there will be a free flow of capital, and though the vicious cycle of poverty is challenging to break, I know that targeted interventions and support can help individuals and communities improve their socio-economic circumstances, which will include education and skills training, economic empowerment and job creation, access to healthcare and social services, infrastructure development, and investment.”
Responding to Hon. Akinsola’s remarks, the leader of Ikale APC Influentials, Hon. Ikuedowo Ayokunle, appreciated the SSA’s commitment to developing Ikale land. He stated that the group’s purpose aligns with Hon. Akinsola’s blueprints and pledged their support for his initiatives.
“We want a society and ethnic nation where we can champion the course of our people for deserving employments, empowerments, and even life-arresting palliatives for the right and deserving people. We’re ready to work with any people-oriented policy of the government, provided the motive has lasting effects on the people.”
Other leaders of the group, including Hon. Odunayo Kehinde Omojesu and Com. Olusola Johnbosco Omobuwa, spoke in support of Hon. Akinsola’s initiatives, highlighting the importance of governance and politics in shaping the lives of the people.
The group’s Pro tem Spokesman, Com. Smart Emiloju, and Com. Messo Oluwaseun, who were absent due to organizational assignments, conveyed their messages of support through other leaders.
The event culminated in the presentation of the Ikale APC Influentials’ insignia to Hon. Akinsola by Com. Ogungbemi Adeyemi Orimisan, who reiterated the group’s mission and vision statements centered on the overall development of Ikale land. In his remarks, Com. Ogungbemi Adeyemi appreciated Hon. Akinsola’s future developmental gestures for the people of Ikale land and promised the group’s support for all his lofty programs to better the lots of the region and its people.
