Engr Temi Oluwalade Extends Kindness to Pupils in Akure North

In a demonstration of goodwill and commitment to educational development, Engr. Temiloluwa Alex Oluwalade, COREN, MNSE, who serves as the Local Government Coordinator of the Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN) in Akure North, has reached out to school children across communities in the local government area. The initiative, carried out as the summer lesson program drew to a close, was aimed at supporting pupils with vital educational materials.

The schools that benefitted from the gesture included St. Michael C&S Primary School, Iju, St. John’s Primary School, Itaogbolu, and L.A. Primary School, Kajola Igbatoro. A particularly memorable moment occurred at the palace of HRH Oba Ifedayo Fapohunda, the Olu of Owode, where pupils from L.A Primary School Owode gathered to receive their share. The royal setting added a layer of cultural significance to the event, with the monarch commending Oluwalade’s efforts in promoting education within traditional frameworks. The outreach extended further to Essyy School in Abusoro community, ensuring that the distribution covered multiple communities.

Speaking during the event, the State Coordinator of OSYN, Comrade Afe Adegboyega Ezekiel, expressed gratitude to the facilitator, Engr. Oluwalade. “We are thankful for this laudable initiative by Engr. Temiloluwa. He has once again shown capacity, leadership, and love for the younger generation,” he said. He also admonished the pupils to take their studies more seriously, emphasizing that education remains the bedrock of their future.
According to him, the project reflects the broader vision of the Ondo State Youth Network to empower the next generation by investing in human capital and educational support. “We cannot overemphasize the importance of these interventions, particularly in rural communities where access to quality educational resources can be limited,” Comrade Afe added.

Engr. Temiloluwa, who was present at the various centers, reiterated that his action was borne out of a deep love for humanity and his conviction that every child deserves a fair chance at quality education. He explained that the distribution was not just about giving out materials, but about encouraging pupils to see education as a pathway to a brighter future.
Community leaders and parents who witnessed the exercise praised the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. A parent at Itaogbolu remarked that “with rising economic challenges, many families struggle to provide even the most basic materials for their children. This support has lifted a huge burden.”

Observers also noted that this was not the first time Engr. Temiloluwa had championed causes in support of young people. His consistent interventions in education and youth empowerment have earned him recognition as a role model across Akure North and beyond. Many credited him as an instrumental figure in bridging the gap between government structures and the needs of ordinary citizens.

This latest gesture not only wraps up the summer lessons on a high note but also sets a precedent for other leaders to follow. By investing in education, Oluwalade is helping to build a brighter future for Ondo State’s children, one notebook at a time. As national conversations around educational equity intensify, such local initiatives remind us of the power of individual action in driving collective progress.
