Hon. Dayo Awude Chairs 2026 Chronicle Lecture, Calls for Urgent Security Action in Ilu-Abo

AKURE — At the prestigious 2026 Chronicle Fizzy Lecture and Awards held today, February 22, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Dayo Awude, lauded the visionary leadership of the late Former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the establishment of the Amotekun Corps.
Speaking on the theme “Southwest Security Synergy: Amotekun’s Role in Regional Stability and Development,” the former Commissioner emphasized that the creation of the security outfit remains one of the most significant legacies of the Akeredolu administration, providing a crucial shield for the people of the Southwest.
A Plea for Ilu-Abo
While acknowledging the strides made in regional security, Hon. Awude turned his attention to a pressing local crisis. He made a passionate appeal to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to urgently address the deteriorating security situation in the Ilu-Abo community.
We cannot ignore the cries from Ilu-Abo,” Hon. Awude stated. “Our people are being kidnapped almost on a daily basis. We beg Mr. Governor to deploy more resources and strategic focus to this axis to restore peace and safety to our farmers and residents.
