Senator Meroyi’s Demise: Faduyile Mourns

Ondo South Senator, Prof.Dayo Faduyile has expressed shock over the news of the demise of the former Senator representing the District, Senator Samuel Omololu Meroyi.
At the return of Nigeria to Democracy in 1999, Senator Meroyi was elected to represent Ondo South from 1999 to 2003. His death was announced earlier on Wednesday morning.
In an official statement detailing his condolences as obtained by newsmen, Senator Faduyile said the revered state man was one of the array of Federal Legislators who championed the Legislative growth of the 4th Republic with his approach and polished input at The Red Chamber as Democracy began to blossom again in Nigeria.
“Since his return to Ondo South after his tour of duty in the upper chamber of The National Assembly, he has remained a steadfast elder state man whose words of advice counted when it mattered both in Ondo State and beyond.
“On behalf of the good people of Ondo South Senatorial District, I commiserate with the family of Baba Meroyi, a Distinguished Senator and foremost state man whose passing has come as a shock as young turks in the District and Ondo State who saw him as an enviable model will miss his candid words of wisdom dearly.
” My sincere prayer is that God will grant the family the courage to bear the loss of the great patriarch of the noble Meroyi family of Araromi Obu,” Senator Dayo Faduyile added.
