A Call to Action for Ondo North, A Joy in a Suffering and Smiling State.
The Ondo North Senatorial district is facing a crisis, and it’s time for collective action. Recently, Senator Pastor Jide Ipinsagba sponsored a bill to establish a federal university of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Akoko North East, which has passed the third reading. This development brings hope and joy to the district, and I pray that it will become a reality soon this year when the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR assent to it and commence full operation.
As a tech enthusiast, I believe the proposed university can bring numerous benefits, including enhanced learning opportunities, improved communication, and increased student engagement.
Alas! the district’s joy is tempered by the suffering and insecurity its people face. Kidnapping and attacks have become rampant, and it’s imperative that our leaders take immediate action to address these issues.
But we cannot enjoy these benefits if our people are not safe. I urge Senator Jide Ipinsagba and other stakeholders to prioritize the security of Ondo North. The people are suffering and smiling, and it’s time for our leaders to show empathy and take concrete actions to protect them.
You have once been a victim and you’re saved by God grace while some had fallen to their bullets and mayhem, some families have not healed from the trauma and open wounds, this unknown element had caused them till now.
You might achieve more than 12 years wasted time of a white man, who had failed to act as an elder and with no sustainable legacies, a story for another day.
Save our soul.
Speak for us , let Nigerians know we are under attack.
A Plea to Leaders as our patience as youths, grow thin.
I appeal to the following leaders to take action:
1. Senator Pastor Jide Ipinsagba: don’t keep mute again, use your position as our representative, to raise awareness about the plight of Ondo North and lobby for more support to address the security challenges. This is a reminder to show empathy and remember your promise for us.
2. The 3 House of Representatives members: Wake up from your slumber and use your voices to seek help for our people who are under attack.
3. His Excellency, Dr. Orimisan Lucky Ayedatiwa: The executive governor of Ondo State thank you for the establishment of military Forward Operation Base(FOB) in Auga Akoko but we need your political will and way to fight this unknown killing machines above mere words, a change in approach and tough one in restoring peace to our district. I appeal for you to Establish a military Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Ose local government to enhance security in the area. Don’t forget you sworn oath to protect and save our life’s and properties.
4. The Minister of Interior: Dr. Olubinmi Tunji Ojo, Bring your expertise and innovation to bear on the security challenges in Ondo North. Your giant strides as a paradigm shift in the ministry of interior can’t be but appreciated. However, only if we are alive to witness more. SOS.
5. The Deputy Governor: Dr. Olayide Adelami Mni, Speak out and fight for the rights of our people who are suffering.
6. The 9 House of Assembly members :Hon Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi as a point of contact to others, are you going to wait till we experience what is going on in the south eastern region of the country?
7. Dr. Olukayode Ajulo and Mrs Omowumi Isaac : It is time for you to consolidate and bring your expertise in creating a solution, don’t ignore at this time.
Unity and Action:
I appreciate the efforts of some stakeholders, including Senator Bode Olajumoke, Kabiesi Olubaka of Oka Kingdom oba Adebori Adeleye, hon. Bode Obanla and others for your role, but it’s time for more concerted action. I have summoned an emergency meeting of the Council of Ondo North Youths President to discuss critical decisions to address this menace.
To everyone:
We need unity of purpose and collective action to save our people from these killing machines. Who will attend the university’s, do our businesses or work on our farms if we are all being killed or living in fear? Our joy will not be sustainable if we don’t address the security challenges.
Abiyamo òkín gbó ekún omorè and not react with speedily actions.
Save us all from this blood sucking monster who had vowed to continue killing us irrespective of our social status, gender, tribe and political status.
History hold it’s pen, at this junction with the word of the prominent German ” first they came for the socialist and I didn’t speak out because I was not a socialist.
Then, they came for the trade unionist and I didn’t speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then, they came for the Jews and I didn’t speak out because I was not a jew.
Then, they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.”
The big question is, who is next?
Let’s come together to save our souls and secure our future.
Sincerely,
Oluwasegun J. Daodu
