Grassroots Empowerment Reaches Akure as SGN Takes Tinubu Apron Initiative to Isinkan Market
By Babatunde KUYE
Akure, the Ondo State capital, witnessed another wave of grassroots engagement as the Sunshine Grassroots Network (SGN) advanced its empowerment drive to Isinkan Market, where hundreds of traders were reached through the Tinubu Apron initiative. The programme, driven by SGN and powered by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), further reinforced the growing connection between national leadership and local market communities.
The outreach was led by the Director-General of SGN, Hon. Dayo Awude, who explained that the initiative is part of a deliberate effort to recognize and support market women and men whose daily activities sustain families and strengthen the informal economy.

Branded under the SGN Atajere Scheme, the Tinubu Apron distribution cut across different sections of Isinkan Market, drawing excitement, chants, and visible joy from traders as the SGN train moved from stall to stall.
Speaking on behalf of the market community, the Iyaloja of Isinkan Market expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, offering prayers for wisdom, strength, and continued success in leadership.

She reaffirmed the loyalty of the market women and traders to the President and described Hon. Tunji-Ojo as “one of our own,” assuring him of total support wherever his leadership direction leads.
The market women also used the occasion to sing praises and offer prayers for President Tinubu, declaring confidence in his administration and reiterating their readiness to stand with him in the journey ahead.
The Isinkan Market activation forms part of a wider SGN outreach expected to extend to markets and communities across Ondo State, deepening grassroots participation and promoting inclusive economic empowerment.
