SGN Inaugurates Door-to-Door Advocates for Tinubu, Awude Charges Mobilisers to Take Message to Grassroots

The Sunshine Grassroots Network (SGN) on Wednesday inaugurated its Door-to-Door Advocates for Tinubu in a well-attended and lively programme that brought together members and grassroots mobilisers from across Ondo State.

Held at the SGN State Secretariat in Alagbaka, Akure, the programme was a mix of learning, interaction and networking. The advocates were taken through the achievements, policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, preparing them for the task ahead in their various communities.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of SGN, Hon. Dayo Awude, charged the newly inaugurated advocates to take what they had learnt back to the people.

Awude said the essence of the initiative was to bring the conversation closer to ordinary people by going from one home to another, listening to their concerns and sharing clear and accurate information about the Tinubu administration.

He urged the advocates to see themselves as ambassadors of the message, stressing that their role goes beyond political mobilisation to meaningful engagement with the people.

The SGN Director-General also highlighted the contributions and grassroots impact of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, noting that his interventions and engagements continue to be felt across Ondo State.

According to Awude, the connection between leadership and the people becomes stronger when leaders and their supporters are willing to go directly into communities and listen to the people.

The inauguration builds on SGN’s existing grassroots programmes, including the Farmers Support Programme, Tinubu Free Fuel (TFF), SGN-Tinubu Atajere Apron, Widows’ Mite and several other initiatives.

The programme also attracted members of the leadership of the sister organisation, GMT, including Hon. Ogunleye Rotimi, former Chairman of Akure North Local Government, and Hon. Gbenga Olayini, Former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development

Both guests delivered goodwill messages at the event, commending the courage and political will demonstrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in pursuing reforms aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy.

Their messages further encouraged the newly inaugurated advocates to remain committed to taking the message to the grassroots and helping the people understand the broader picture of the ongoing reforms.

Beyond the formalities, the programme was fun, engaging and highly interactive, with participants actively taking part in the discussions. The advocates left the event better informed and better equipped to return to their communities and share the message.

With the inauguration completed, the Door-to-Door Advocates are now set to begin their grassroots engagement, taking the conversation about the achievements and vision of the Tinubu administration directly to homes and communities across Ondo State.

For SGN, the message is simple: go to the people, listen to them, inform them and keep them connected to the bigger picture.
