Faduyile Condoles Air Chief Over Igbokoda Air Force Crash

The Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Senator Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, has commiserated with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, over the tragic crash of a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The aircraft, identified as NGR931, crashed on Monday, October 5, 2026, while on a routine national assignment from Benin to Lagos, claiming the lives of 25 passengers and seven crew members.
Faduyile, in a condolence message to the Chief of Air Staff, described the incident as heartbreaking and a major loss to the Nigerian Air Force and the nation.
He said the people of Ondo South were mourning the victims, adding that he had been in contact with the traditional institution, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Maurice Oripenaye, and community leaders in Igbokoda following the incident.
The senator commended the fallen officers and crew members for their courage, patriotism and selfless service to the nation, saying they paid the supreme price in the line of duty.
He said their sacrifices would not be forgotten and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased.
Faduyile also prayed that God would grant the bereaved families, the Nigerian Air Force and the entire Nigerian Armed Forces the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
