GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT: United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office Invites Senator Jimoh Ibrahim to Speak in Turkey on Global War Strategy

The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) Programme Office on Parliamentary Engagement in Preventing and Countering Terrorism, with the support of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar, has formally invited Senator Jimoh Ibrahim CFR, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, to present a strategy paper at the Global Parliamentary Conference on Counter-Terrorism and the Prevention of Violent Extremism.

 

The high-level conference, scheduled for October 7–8, 2025, in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, will gather parliamentarians from across the world. Senator Ibrahim, a distinguished scholar of modern warfare as well as a business leader and legislator, is expected to present innovative strategies for addressing and curbing terrorism globally.

 

In its invitation letter, the United Nations noted:

“I am pleased to extend, through your esteemed office, an invitation to Prof. Jimoh Ibrahim, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and member of the African Parliamentary Union delegation, to participate in this important conference. His contributions will add significant value to the discussions and outcomes.”

 

Following his engagement in Turkey, Senator Ibrahim—renowned entrepreneur, academic, and policymaker—will proceed to the United States of America to attend the World Bank/International Monetary Fund (IMF) ancillary meetings in Washington, D.C. There, he will join leading global economists and policymakers at the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings to deliberate on pressing issues affecting the world economy.
