INSECURITY: TINUBU’S SECURITY DRIVE RESTORING CONFIDENCE, BOOSTING INVESTOR ATTRACTION

One of the greatest achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is the drastic improvement in Nigeria’s security situation, a development that is helping to restore public confidence, strengthen economic activities and make the country increasingly attractive to foreign investors.

Beyond the positive impact of the President’s economic policies, which are beginning to yield results, the remarkable improvement in security and the relative peace being experienced across several parts of the country remain significant factors contributing to renewed confidence in Nigeria.

Today, our roads are considerably safer. Areas that were previously regarded as security hotspots have witnessed significant improvements in security, making it possible for Nigerians to travel across different parts of the country with greater confidence and peace of mind. Our schools are enjoying improved security, while farmers are returning to their farmlands with renewed confidence that they can carry out their agricultural activities without the constant fear of attacks and clashes.

The menace of cattle rustling, kidnapping and banditry, which once constituted serious threats to communities and economic activities, has also witnessed a remarkable decline in several areas. Nigerians can increasingly go about their daily activities and sleep in their homes with greater peace of mind, knowing that considerable progress has been made in tackling these security threats.

A look at previous election cycles, particularly during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, offers an important perspective. As the 2023 general election approached, the country witnessed serious security challenges, including activities of bandits and terrorists who reportedly hoisted foreign flags in some local government areas across certain states. The security situation became so concerning that the general election was eventually postponed.

However, the situation today presents a remarkably different picture. With the next general election approaching, the country is not witnessing the same scale of widespread insecurity and disruption that characterised that period. While some security challenges remain, the significant improvement in the overall security situation is worthy of recognition.

This is an area where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves commendation. His administration’s efforts towards tackling insecurity have contributed significantly to the restoration of confidence among Nigerians and the business community.

A peaceful environment is essential for national development. Investors will naturally be more comfortable bringing their resources into a country where businesses can operate, roads are safer, farmers can return to their farms, children can attend school and citizens can pursue their legitimate activities without living under constant fear.

This is why the remarkable gains recorded in the security sector must not only be acknowledged but sustained.

As Nigerians prepare for another electoral decision, the need to consolidate these achievements becomes increasingly important. The call for continuity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is therefore also a call to sustain the progress already recorded, strengthen the country’s security architecture and build on the remarkable foundation established.

Nigeria cannot afford to return to the days when insecurity threatened virtually every aspect of national life. The progress made so far must be protected, while greater efforts are directed towards addressing the security challenges that still remain.

President Tinubu deserves commendation for the remarkable improvements recorded in this area, and Nigerians should carefully consider the importance of sustaining these gains as the country moves forward.
