The Politically Orchestrated Media Rage Against The Governor and His Appointees; The Hand of Esau and the Voice of Jacob.

By: Fadeshola Ojamomi, Esq

Since the years of the Sumerians , politics has been a theater of strategy, deception, and hidden influences. One biblical proverb that aptly captures the essence of political manipulation is pointedly illustrated in Genesis 27:22. This metaphorical phrase by the blind patriarch Isaac, has since been used to exemplify scenarios where the outward appearance or action belongs to one entity, but the real influence or control comes from another.

In the recent media outburst by some political jobbers, contract racketeers and political opponents masquerading under the nomenclature of “ILAJE YOUTHS”, it is crystal obvious that those behind those ill motivated publications and attacks were political con artists and masters of illusion. In order to vent their frustration and project their anger, they disguised themselves by poorly using non-existing names to publish cheap propaganda against the Ondo State Government.

This traducers in Esau skin have systematically carried out a manipulative populism, a political strategy of exploiting public emotions and grievances to propagate fake narratives just to score cheap political and economic gain. Hence they resulted to attacking , maligning, vilifying and defaming the reputation of Mr. Governor by fabricating emotional love stories viz a viz alleging appointments were influenced by two female appointees. Their aims is to spread conspiracy theories and misinformation in order to control public perception because the Governor has uncovered their secret agendas.

A panoramic look at the issues raised in the widely publicized defamatory article, suggests that the actors behind the scene masquerading as “Igbalaye Enikanoselu” are people whose interest are centered on who heads the state Ministry of works and who handles contracts and infrastructure in the state. Their greatest worry is the embargo permanently placed on the milky flowing breast of Ondo state resources by H.E, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. Since they could no longer have access to the treasury, they resulted to political opprobrium.

Who are the “ILAJE YOUTHS” captured in that unfortunate treatise? The Ilaje youths that I know and have worked with all my life are cultured, responsible and respectful. Ilaje youths have several channels to register their displeasure on issues bothering them. Most of the Ilaje Youths have direct access to the Governor and will never come to the public to blindly accuse him , drag him or make unfounded allegations that are inimical, deleterious, antagonistic, despicable and dangerous not just to the state but to the Governor of the Sunshine State.

Those selfish political jobbers with inordinate ambitions desirous of stairing controversies and plans to score cheap political points have failed. Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is in full control of his administration and can never be under anyone’s control. He’s “primus inter pares” and cannot be manipulated by any of his appointees to do what is not morally, economically and politically correct. He’s a good listener and a seasoned Administrator with decades of quality experience. It’s therefore laughable to characterize his style of leadership as being subjugated by the Commissioner for Finance. All decisions taken by his excellency are in the overriding interest of State.

The Commissioner for Finance has been working closely with Mr. Governor for the effective management of the state resources, ensuring accountability , promoting transparency and blocking leakages. The coordinated attack against her person suggests that her resolve to ensuring prudent resource management, preventing financial waste and plugging fiscal loopholes in the Lucky Aiyedatiwa administration is yielding positive results.

The SSA to the Governor on Strategic Communications has come under fire over his harmless remarks and response to the propaganda and libelous comment made by the coward masquerading as Mr Igbalaye Enikanoselu. It would have been more heartwarming to read responses condemning the coward-writer, who mischievously allege that Mr Governor was having affairs with his appointees and also alleged that Mr Governor is in bondage amongst other disgusting allegations.

Allen Sowore in his response only opined that such derogatory statements could not have emanated from any Ilaje Youth because the Governor has been benevolent and magnanimous to our people. He reiterated that all appointment made by the Governor are on merit using Ilaje as a case study. Sowore acknowledged and extolled Mr Governor’s courage and commitment in shunning nepotism whilst emphasizing that appointment were given to highly distinguished citizens of Ilaje extraction. Allen Sowore should be celebrated for standing in the gap for us when it mattered. He should be praised for addressing the malicious allegations levied against the Governor, our Governor. He remains a friend of the Ilaje people and should forever be seen as one.

Furthermore, there is no truism in the allegation that those who stood by the Governor during the impeachment saga have left him. The Governor did not only strengthen his friendship with them but also ensure their ties remain unbroken whilst making new friends across party lines. For the first time in history, a Governor of Ondo state enjoyed the combine support of friends, political opponents and members of over 16 political party in the state. This is an unprecedented feet that transmogrified into the highly celebrated 18:0.

The people of Ondo State should be cautious of the information and stories they consume from faceless merchant of lies, who are too timid to reveal their real names or declare their true intentions.
As citizens and good observers of politics, we must learn to look beyond surface-level rhetoric, cooked stories and seek the truth behind political motivated actions.

In an era of media influence, hidden agendas, political interest and power struggles, this age-old proverb serves as a reminder to be critical thinkers and informed participants in governance. “The Hand of Esau and the Voice of Jacob” is a proverbial phrase that encapsulates the political strategy of the enemies of the state who are desirous of spreading misinformation for the purpose of causing commotion and confusion. The reality is that the faces behind the ignoble publication have been exposed and they have started licking their wounds.

Ondo State is Lucky.

Signed;

Hon. Barr. Fadeshola Ojamomi
