ONDO STATE SCHOLARS ARENA EXPRESSES UTMOST CONSTERNATION AT THE UNWARRANTED ATTACK ON HON. OLUBUNMI TUNJI-OJO’S INTEGRITY
The Ondo State Scholars Arena for Development Initiative (OSSA) has taken cognisance of a protest staged in Akure by certain individuals styling themselves as “Ondo Concerned Youths”, calling for an investigation into an allegation of certificate forgery purportedly levelled against the Minister of Interior, Honourable Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The OSSA is appalled, nay, incensed by the fact that these youths are peddling a narrative that has been thoroughly debunked by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), which has cleared Hon. Tunji-Ojo of any wrongdoing, confirming that he completed his compulsory service. This unequivocal clearance underscores the Minister’s unwavering commitment to excellence and his unassailable integrity.
We condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the temerity of these individuals in seeking to traduce the honour of a distinguished public servant, whose sterling achievements and unyielding dedication to public service are beyond reproach. Their actions are redolent of a craven attempt to besmirch his reputation and undermine his accomplishments.
Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo stands tall as a paragon of virtue, whose meteoric rise in public service is a testament to his unyielding dedication and unwavering resolve. Since 1999, no Minister has rivalled his exemplary performance, and it is unconscionable that he is being subjected to this egregious calumny.
To these individuals and their paymasters, we say: look elsewhere for cheap popularity. Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is above you and your machinations. He is a man of unimpeachable integrity, and your baseless allegations will not diminish his stature.
We implore you to take your life seriously and desist from continuously embarking on paid protests against an individual who has consistently demonstrated excellence in public service. It is time to redirect your energies towards constructive endeavours that benefit our great state and nation.
The OSSA believes these individuals are not working in the best interests of Ondo State or Nigeria, and their actions are a clear example of the “pulling down syndrome” that we must reject.
We call upon the Department of State Services (DSS) to forthwith investigate the circumstances surrounding these baseless allegations and take condign action against those responsible.
The OSSA reaffirms its steadfast support for Hon. Tunji-Ojo and commends his steadfast commitment to the service of our great nation.
