Grassroots Momentum Builds as Kuye Babatunde Makes Grand Homecoming to APC Ward Structure
In a significant boost to grassroots politics and party consolidation, Kuye Babatunde was formally welcomed into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the ward level, marking a strategic and symbolic homecoming that signals renewed strength within the local party structure.
Although he officially decamped on 11th August 2025 through SGN, the ward-level homecoming was organized in recognition of the enduring political principle that all politics is local and must be rooted in strong grassroots alignment. The well-attended meeting drew the presence of the Ward Chairman, ward executives, party leaders, and over 70 APC members, reflecting unity, solidarity, and renewed enthusiasm within the ward.
In his welcome remarks, the Ward Chairman described Kuye Babatunde as a valuable addition to the party, highlighting his political vibrancy, experience, and mobilization strength. He expressed optimism that Babatunde’s integration would further strengthen the ward structure and enhance the party’s collective drive toward future victories.
Responding to the warm reception, Babatunde expressed heartfelt appreciation to the ward leadership and party faithful for turning out en masse to receive him. He described the gathering as a significant moment in his political journey and a reaffirmation of his progressive roots.
He recounted his early political involvement during the days of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), noting that his political philosophy has consistently been anchored on progressive ideals and people-centered governance.
Explaining his decision to join APC, Babatunde pointed to what he described as the visible efforts and reform-driven leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He referenced signs of an emerging and repositioned economy, infrastructural development through ongoing road construction projects, improved availability of fuel, and the gradual moderation of previously high commodity prices. According to him, these developments demonstrate purposeful leadership deserving of support.
Quoting the popular maxim, “one good turn deserves another,” he emphasized the need to consolidate and strengthen leadership efforts aimed at national growth and stability.
Babatunde reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the growth and advancement of APC at the ward level. He pledged to dedicate his experience, political network, and grassroots mobilization capacity toward strengthening party unity, expanding membership, and ensuring effective participation in future political engagements.
