SGN Concludes Statewide Tinubu Farmers Support Programme, Reaches 1,000 Farmers Across Ondo
The Sunshine Grassroots Network (SGN) has concluded the statewide rollout of the Tinubu Farmers Support (TFS) Programme, reaching over 1,000 farmers across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State.
The intervention, which covered Ondo Central, Ondo North, and Ondo South, involved the distribution of agricultural inputs such as sprayers and rain boots to farmers in rural communities. Beneficiaries were drawn from areas including Ilu-Abo and Ita-Ogbolu in Ondo Central; Oke-Agbe, Ibaramu, and Arigidi in Ondo North; as well as Ese-Odo and Irele in Ondo South.
The programme recorded significant turnout across the state, with farmers describing the intervention as timely and beneficial. Many noted that the tools provided would ease farm operations, reduce manual stress, and improve productivity.
Speaking during the exercise, the Director General of SGN, Dayo Awude, conveyed the message of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who sponsored the initiative. He said the programme reflects a commitment to grassroots development and support for local farmers.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Tinubu Farmers Support Committee, Mr. Adefila, said the initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen food production and support rural livelihoods.
Awude further encouraged continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that ongoing reforms in key sectors require sustained backing.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, commending its impact on their farming activities and livelihoods. They also acknowledged ongoing efforts aimed at improving agricultural support and rural development.
The completion of the programme across Ondo State highlights SGN’s expanding grassroots engagement, reinforcing its role as a platform delivering impactful initiatives sponsored by Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in support of the administration and re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
