Breaking: Ebiseni forced Aiyedatiwa to call stakeholders Meeting on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

The Governor of Ondo State and APC Gubernatorial candidate has invited “Ilajes in Akure to an urgent stakeholders meeting with Gov. David Umahi (Minister of Works) on the Lagos-Ilaje-Calabar Coastal Road today, 31st October, 2024 at 10:30 am, Government House Banquet Hall, Akure” in a letter signed by Omojuwa Akinfemi Raymond, SSA on Niger Delta and Amnesty Affairs.

Investigations in government quarters revealed that following the widely reported statement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate that the coastal area of Ondo State has been short-changed by the alignment of the road, the Minister of Works David Umahi expressed surprise that Governor Aiyedatiwa has not taken steps like his counterparts in the other affected states on the proper alignment of the road in Ondo State forcing the Minister on the emergency visits to Ondo State today.

The letter of invitation copies of which have been circulated on social media has been a cause concern amongst the stakeholders who claimed that the meeting with “Ilajes in Akure” falls far short of the gathering of stakeholders. When contacted, Chief Ebiseni commended the Minister for his prompt response as he has done in other states but noted that “it is most unfortunate that Governor Aiyedatiwa has decided to cheapen our people before the Minister and created confusion”.

He added “what is the definition and scope of “Ilajes in Akure” which certainly excludes our traditional rulers and people based at home. Since the announcement of the construction of the road the leaders have been asking the governor for information which will enable us have consensus on the proper alignment to place before the Federal Government. Speaking in Ilaje dialect Ebiseni said this “pajawiri” (emergency) meeting is a political gimmick to promote this apalaya (half baked) government before our people.
