TAMPAN Incoming National President Akeem Alimi Pays Courtesy Visit to Sunshine Grassroots Network in Ondo

The incoming National President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Alhaji Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajalajalingo, paid a courtesy visit to the Sunshine Grassroots Network (SGN) and its members in Ondo State.

 

Alhaji Akeem Alimi, who is the consensus candidate for the position of National President of TAMPAN, was accompanied by a delegation of prominent members and aspirants of the association.

 

The entourage comprised Mr. Monsuru Obadina (Fala); Pastor Amb. Sunday Alabi Osibata, National General Secretary; Bashorun Aderemi Kamala, Ondo State Governor; Sam B. Adewole (Actor), National Liaison Officer; Kunle Ogunmola, Governorship Aspirant, TAMPAN Ondo State; Hon. Fisayo Ogundiya; Mrs. Tobiloba Atolagbe Akorede, State Secretary Aspirant, Ondo State; Boluwaji Ademo; Sina Oluyi; Ebenezer Ogunleye; Franklin Akinniola; Bose Olatunbosun; Gbenga Akinsulure, Aspirant Deputy Governor; Sesan Ojo; Prophet Adesegun Owolabi; and Arowjobo Adedoji Aderemi.

 

The delegation was warmly received by the Director-General of SGN, Hon. Dayo Awude, alongside members of the SGN team who were in attendance.

 

The SGN team at the meeting included Hon. Olu Egbodofo, General Secretary, SGN; Hon. Afolayan, General Secretary, SGN Akure North; and Comrade Kuye Babatunde, Director of Media and Publicity, SGN.

 

Speaking during the courtesy visit, Alhaji Akeem Alimi expressed his appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his support and encouragement towards TAMPAN and its members.

 

He also commended the SGN Director-General, Hon. Dayo Awude, for his continued support and for always opening his doors to the association.

 

The incoming TAMPAN National President said his vision is to run an inclusive administration where every member of the association would have a strong sense of belonging.

 

He identified members’ welfare as a major priority, promising that his administration would place the wellbeing and professional development of members at the centre of its programmes.

 

He further promised to keep all chapters actively engaged through numerous productive programmes that would create opportunities for members, strengthen the association and contribute to the growth of the creative industry.

 

Alimi also called on members of TAMPAN to see themselves as one family and work together for the progress of the association.

 

He stressed the importance of unity, urging members to put aside differences and embrace collective responsibility. According to him, the association can only achieve its full potential when members remain united, stressing that “together we stand and divided we fall.”

 

The meeting also provided an opportunity for discussions on collaboration and the need for stronger relationships between TAMPAN and organisations such as SGN in advancing initiatives that support practitioners and the wider community.

 

In his response, the Director-General of SGN, Hon. Dayo Awude, welcomed Alhaji Akeem Alimi and his entourage to the Sunshine Grassroots Network and expressed appreciation for the courtesy visit.

 

He reaffirmed SGN’s openness to meaningful partnerships and collaborations that promote unity, empowerment and development.

 

The visit ended with a vote of thanks from the TAMPAN delegation, who expressed appreciation to Hon. Dayo Awude and the entire SGN team for the warm reception accorded them.

 

The delegation also prayed for stronger collaboration between TAMPAN and SGN, expressing optimism that the relationship would continue to produce positive outcomes for members and contribute to the growth of the creative industry.

 

The courtesy visit further highlighted the importance of unity, collaboration and inclusive leadership as TAMPAN prepares for a new phase under the proposed leadership of Alhaji Akeem Alimi (Ajalajalingo).
