YOUNGEST ONDO COMMISSIONER TAKES OFFICE WITH PLEDGE OF INCLUSIVITY
Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State, Hon. Omoyofunmi Henry Oluwasegun (IBB), resumed office today. The commissioner was accompanied by representatives from key youth structures in the state, including the Ondo State Youth Network, National Association of Ondo State Students, National Youth Council, Ondo State Scholars Arena, National Association of Nigeria Students, and all the former student leaders in the state. He received a warm welcome from the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Tolu Adeyemi, the directors, and top officials of the ministry. The Permanent Secretary conducted a tour of the offices and working environment for the commissioner, followed by a brief welcome meeting in his office.
The Hon. Commissioner, Hon. Omoyofunmi, pledged an all-inclusive administration and urged the management and staff of the ministry to prioritize their statutory responsibilities and be proactive in their service delivery. Addressing the meeting, Hon. IBB expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for giving him the opportunity to serve as a commissioner. He emphasized that Governor Aiyedatiwa is interested in the development of the youth of Ondo State. He then charged them on commitment, diligence, and proactiveness, disclosing that they are the engine room of the government and crucial to enhancing service delivery. He also promised an all-inclusive administration. The commissioner highlighted the governor’s unwavering support for the ministry.
The Permanent Secretary expressed appreciation to the governor for appointing a youthful commissioner and pledged cooperation with the commissioner for success.
Subsequently, the commissioner joined Governor Aiyedatiwa at a skill acquisition program organized by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor on youth and job creation, Hon. Orioye Igbayisemore.
During the program, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa stated that he is a listening governor who granted the request of the Ondo State youth who demanded a youthful commissioner. The SSA to the governor, Hon. Orioye Igbayisemore, also appreciated the governor for giving the youth of Ondo State a youthful commissioner.
