It was an occasion that could be described as political carnival and intellectual symposium, as Chief Olusola Nehemiah Ebiseni (ONE) stormed Ilaje Local Government to round up meetings with leaders and delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in continuation of his engagements across the state with his message of hope for the forthcoming gubernatorial primary of the party.
Going down memory lane, the former Chairman of the old Ilaje/Ese Odo Local Government and three times Commissioner in the State, reminded the party stalwarts that he had been part of the progress of the state in the last 3 decades and fully equipped for its governorship. For Ilaje specifically, he reminded the people of some of the achievements which included successful agitation, as the Local Government Chairman, for the recognition of Ondo State as oil producing, pioneer survey of the present Aboto-Olokola road and campaigns for the Ilaje (OndoState) -Lagos coastal road, creation of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), the monumental Igbokoda-Aiyetoro Road, dualisation of Igbokoda road among others. Ebiseni, therefore, challenged other aspirants on their contributions to the progress of the state as the yardstick for selecting the candidate of the party.
He enjoined the delegates to vote for him as the gubernatorial candidate of the party as he is well equipped to lead the party to victory.
Responding, Hon.(Barr.) Amuwa Benson who is the South West Zonal Organizing Secretary of the party described Ebiseni as a well respected son of the soil, a political leader that the entire ilaje is proud of, a thoroughbred politician who knows his onions.Hee further called him a brilliant and reliable politician who is an asset to the state and Nigeria at large. Hon. Amuwa who confirmed that Ebiseni is accepted across the state, therefore said Ilaje will not be an exception, he thereafter charged all the delegates to put the round peg in the round whole.
In her own reaction Chief Mrs. Silipanah Ebisemiju enjoined the people to get it right this time, describing Ebiseni as a political General with requisite capacity to successfully lead the party to victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial battle. He told the people that it was imperative to support a candidate who is widely accepted by the entire state.
