ONDO STATE YOUTH NETWORK TO GOVERNMENT: Act Now to Secure Release of Prince Eniola Ojajuni
PRESS STATEMENT
February 23, 2025
The Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN) unequivocally condemns the kidnapping and shooting of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, President of the Afenifere Youth Council, in Abuja on Monday, February 17, 2025. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Prince Ojajuni, who was reportedly shot twice in the buttocks before being taken captive.
This egregious act has exacerbated the growing concerns over insecurity across the country, with several high-profile kidnappings recorded in recent months. We call on the Inspector General of Police and all security agencies to take swift and decisive action to ensure Prince Ojajuni’s safe release and bring the perpetrators to justice.
We also bring this disturbing trend of kidnapping to the attention of His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Tinubu, and charge him to take all necessary measures to secure the live and property of Nigerians, as mandated by the Constitution.
It is utterly disturbing that Prince Ojajuni has been held captive for seven days with a gunshot wound, and yet, the federal government, Ondo state government, and the Inspector General of Police seem to have made no significant efforts to rescue him. As a youth leader, Prince Ojajuni has been a strong advocate for national development and has played a significant role in promoting the interests of the youth.
The Ondo State Youth Network stands in solidarity with the family and friends of Prince Ojajuni and demands an end to this senseless mental torture. We will continue to monitor the situation and advocate for the safe release of Prince Ojajuni.
Signed,
Babatunde KUYE
Secretary, Ondo State Youth Network
