The Governor of Ondo State,  Government House,                            Akure, Ondo State.

Dear Sir,

OPEN LETTER TO MR. GOVERNOR Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa

I am writing to express my deep concern about the rising trend of kidnapping in Ondo State. This heinous crime has become a recurring decimal in our dear state, leaving trails of sorrow, fear, and uncertainty in its wake.

The recent spate of kidnappings has sent shockwaves throughout the state, with many residents living in fear of being abducted. The victims, including children, women, and men, are often taken from their homes, schools, or while traveling on highways. The trauma and pain inflicted on the families and loved ones of the victims are immeasurable.

Furthermore, the economic and social implications of kidnapping are far-reaching. Many businesses have been forced to close, and economic activities have been disrupted due to the fear of kidnapping. The state’s reputation has also been tarnished, making it unattractive to investors and tourists.

In light of this, I urge Your Excellency to take immediate and decisive action to address this menace. This can be achieved by:

1. To liaise with security chiefs and brainstorming about Increasing the presence of security personnel in flashpoints and vulnerable areas.

2. Providing adequate resources and equipment to security agencies to enable them to effectively combat kidnapping.

3. Establishing a special joint task force to focus on kidnapping cases and ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice.

4. Collaborating with neighboring states to share intelligence and coordinate efforts to combat kidnapping.

5. Providing support and compensation to victims and their families.

6. Development of signal intelligence center across senatorial districts to track criminals

I equally want to bring to the governor’s attention the kidnapping of Prince Ojajuni Eniola, an Ilaje man from Ondo State, who was abducted in Abuja seven days ago. I urge the governor to take immediate action to ensure the safe release of the victim.

I believe that with a concerted effort from the government, security agencies, and the citizens, we can rid Ondo State of this scourge and restore peace and security to our dear state.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Best regards

Segun Olowoparija                            Deputy Coordinator South,                  Ondo State Youth Network
